The output figures quoted below assume a standard brick size, so the number per shift changes when the brick dimensions change.

Machines in the range

QGH Smart. The business initiator in the range, for producers planning 10,000 to 12,000 bricks per shift. It has a 40 tonne hydraulic pressing capacity, produces 3 bricks per stroke and runs at 6 cycles per minute, on a pallet of 450 mm x 300 mm x 18 mm.

QGH 14. A business builder machine for 14,000 to 15,000 bricks per shift, with a 50 tonne hydraulic pressing capacity, 4 bricks per stroke, 6 cycles per minute and a 600 mm x 300 mm x 18 mm pallet.

QGH 17. The second business builder machine, for 16,000 to 17,000 bricks per shift. It carries the same 50 tonne pressing capacity, 4 bricks per stroke and 600 mm x 300 mm x 18 mm pallet as the QGH 14, and runs at 7 cycles per minute.

QGH 25. The business leader machine, for 15,000 to 20,000 bricks per shift. It has an 80 tonne hydraulic pressing capacity, produces 6 bricks per stroke and runs at 7 cycles per minute, on a pallet of 800 mm x 300 mm x 18 mm.

QGH 25A Twin. A twin press configuration for 23,000 to 24,000 bricks per shift, with two 80 tonne presses giving 12 bricks per stroke between them at 7 cycles per minute.

Options across the range

Production is customisable to the brick size specified, which is the main variable behind the shift figures above. It is worth sizing a machine against the products a plant expects to sell rather than the headline output alone.

Why fly ash bricks suit the Kolkata market

Kolkata and the districts around it have long been served by clay brick kilns working the alluvial soil of the delta. Pressed fly ash bricks change that equation. The raw material is ash from thermal power generation in West Bengal rather than topsoil, and the bricks are cured rather than fired, so there is no kiln and no fuel bill for firing.

The other reason the product has taken hold in and around the city is quality of finish. A pressed brick holds its size, its edges are straight and its faces are flat, so masonry goes up faster and takes less plaster.
